Technical Rescue & SCBA Breathing Apparatus Manual 🛠️

In addition to suppressing fires, firefighters perform technical rescues, vehicle extrications, and entry into hazardous IDLH (Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health) atmospheres.

🥽 SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) & Guide Lines

When entering buildings filled with toxic smoke:

  • SCBA Air Tank (`scba`): Equip the `scba` item from your inventory to wear your air pack. The SCBA protects your lungs from smoke damage, coughing fits, and health loss.
  • HUD Air Gauge: Monitors your tank pressure in real time (330 Bar capacity). Running or sprinting drains air faster!
  • SCBA Flashlight ('K') & PASS Alarm ('H'): Press 'K' to toggle your helmet-mounted spotlight. If you fall unconscious or remain motionless for 30 seconds, your PASS Alarm will sound loudly ('H' to reset) to alert nearby rescue crews.
  • Search Guide Line (`scbarope`): In zero-visibility smoke, deploy the `scbarope` item. Unspool the guide line as you search rooms so you can easily trace your way back out to safety.
